Graphic Design Terminology Part 2
1. Vector
Vector graphics consist of points, lines, and curves. They are able to scale very large or very small without any loss is image quality.
2. Raster
Raster images consist of blocky objects called pixels. In contrast to vectors, raster images depend on the resolution. Resizing a raster image results in shrinking/expanding pixels. This may cause significant loss of image quality and cause images to be blurry.
3. RGB
RGB stands for Red, Green, Blue. This color mode is for anything that is digital/online design. In other words, websites, apps,banner ad and designs created for web usage.
4. CMYK
CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black. This color mode is for all print designs. For example logos, business cards, letterhead, packaging and anything else designed for print.
